Flooring Basics

Carpeting:

Given proper care, the carpeting in your home will provide years of use. You should vacuum at least once a week using a powerful upright vacuum cleaner. It is also recommended to give your carpeting a professional cleaning once a year to remove deep down dirt and stubborn stains. Always treat stains immediately. There are many stain and spot removers available, however, it is recommended to seek the advice of a carpeting expert on what to use for your particular style of carpet.

Hardwood Floors:

If you have hardwood floors in your home, you should consult the manufacturer guide for care tips, as each is different. Wood will expand and contract as weather changes and it may shrink under extreme dryness or swell under extreme humidity. We have posted separate articles on care for Hallmark flooring products that Dynasty Homes commonly uses.

LVP Floors:

These luxury vinyl plank floors have become increasingly popular due to look of wood floors with all the features and benefits of vinyl.

Ceramic Tile:

These floors are generally easy to maintain. They do need to be cleaned with wet mop. The grout between ceramic tiles can be cleaned using a bush and mild cleaner. Grout sealers are available to make the grout more resistant to stains.

Please note that high heeled shoes or furniture legs without floor protectors will cause damage to any floor covering!
